I had the honour of attending Årets Feminista 2025 at Dramaten in Stockholm, and honestly—I felt fab in my dress! The room was alive with energy, laughter, tears, courage, and so much inspiration. Being surrounded by strong women from so many fields, all doing incredible and important work together, was nothing short of electric.

One of the highlights of the evening was seeing my friend Luul Jama step onto the stage to accept Årets Systerskap for her work with Existera. Their organization supports girls and women affected by female genital mutilation, offering emotional support, safety, and education while breaking the culture of silence surrounding the issue. Seeing Luul speak with such courage and clarity was profoundly moving and reminded me of the power of action and community.

Experiences like this always make me think about my art. My piece Queen is inspired by women like those I met that night—their struggles, their strength, their triumphs. Queen is a celebration of resilience, courage, and standing taller than ever, no matter what life throws your way. That night, seeing all that power in one room, I felt every brushstroke come alive in a new way.

I left Dramaten buzzing with ideas, inspiration, and a little extra sparkle (thank you, dress!). Nights like this remind me why I create—to honor strength, to capture resilience, and to celebrate the women who continue to inspire us every day.
